Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports have resumed normal operations
Vietnam’s textile and apparel industry has fully resumed normal operations. In the 1st quarter of 2024, its exports reached USD 10 billion, marking a 10% increasecomparedto2023. Thus, achieving Vietnam’s target of USD 44 billion textile and garment exports in 2024 is feasible.
At present, Vietnam imports a lot of fabrics and garment accessories from overseas annually.
Hanoi (North Vietnam): The new production base of Vietnam
- Lower costs (labour, production and land) compared to Ho Chi Minh City
- Vietnam is promoting and investing in the infrastructure of northern Vietnam
- Cheaper land transport for supplies from China due to proximity
- Many local and international textile and garment factories have already moved to northern Vietnam
