US-China Trade Conflict – Caused manufacturers moving to Vietnam
After the US raised the tariff on Chinese textile products, the Vietnamese garment industry became the hottest market in Southeast Asia. From January to September 2019, Vietnam’s garment exports reached US$ 24.8 billion, an increase of 10.4% over the same period of last year.
Vietnam was the world’s biggest importer of fabric in the first half of 2019.
Its’ import value is twice, three times and three times more than the second (Bangladesh), third (Cambodia) and fourth (Indonesia) importers of Chinese fabric. It indicates Vietnam’s huge demand for fabric imports as Vietnam has no fabric production.
Favorable Trade Agreements
Vietnam has signed multiple trade agreements with the US, the EU, CPTPP and the ASEAN Economic Community, it allows Vietnam to take advantage of the reduced tariffs which leads Vietnam to strengthen their competitive ability into the global market.
The Biggest and Most Authoritative Textile Exhibition in Vietnam
The last SaigonFabric (concurrent with the SaigonTex 2019) attracted over 1,000 exhibitors from 25 countries/ regions, including China, France, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, etc. As a result of a high sales volume during the last show, our exhibitors were urged to reserve booths and expand their sizes for the coming expo.
