Cyberport partnered with Hong Kong Forum to exchange on smart living innovations
Cyberport and three start-ups from the Cyberport community attended The 20th Hong Kong Forum (Young Executive Programme) in early December to offer their insights on “Smart and Green Living” and “Embracing Innovations and Technologies”.
The two-day Forum was the annual flagship event of the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide, which is a network of 45 Hong Kong business associations in 34 countries and regions.
Peter Yan, CEO of Cyberport, moderated a panel discussion entitled “Smart and Green Living”. Mr Yan talked to Paul Berriman of PCCW Limited, Andy Bien of the Airport Authority Hong Kong, and Rosana Wong of Yau Lee Holdings Limited and explored how these leading enterprises are implementing innovation and adopting technologies. The enterprise leaders discussed the future trends and impacts of smart living.
Mr Berriman talked about HKT’s smart city solutions and how they can enhance the quality, performance, and interactivity of urban services. Mr Bien revealed the Airport Authority’s strategies and initiatives to develop the Hong Kong International Airport into a smart airport. Meanwhile, Ms Wong talked about her construction company’s strategies to combine technology, innovation, and science to achieve sustainable development.
Cyberport was the Strategic Partner of the Forum’s Young Executive Programme, and Eric Chan, Chief Public Mission Officer of Cyberport, hosted a panel discussion with four start-up founders including Andy Lam (A&A Limited), and three  from Cyberport - Alvin Hung (Vyond), Fiona Lau (SHOPLINE), and Kevin Lee (Redspots Creative).  The young innovators discussed their views and experiences on how businesses can embrace innovation and technology and stay competitive in the digital era.
During the discussions, Mr Lam shared the success factors of an effective marketing campaign. Mr Hung outlined the ways in which companies can harness the power of rich media. Ms Lau described how SHOPLINE created a new business model and stayed competitive, while Mr Lee explained how the deployment of innovative media technology can bring changes to traditional marketing campaign strategies.
