Cyberport FinTech companies bagged 20 FinTech Awards, including FinTech of the Year
FinTech companies from the Cyberport community have won big again, this time at the ET Net’s FinTech Awards 2019, scoring 20 awards across nine categories and setting a new win record. Quantifeed, a Cyberport Incubation Programme alumnus, even claimed the “FinTech of the Year” award, snatching the title long held only by traditional financial institutions.

“Turning Innovation into Reality” was the theme of the FinTech Awards 2019.  The competition recognised and celebrated innovations for financial services in Hong Kong and the people who make them happen.

Upon judging by a panel of respected industry professionals and leaders during end of 2019 based on innovation/creativity, functionality, marketability, impact and benefits, 19 Cyberport companies took home 20 awards in nine categories including Artificial Intelligence, Insurance, Wealth Investment and Management, Lending, Big Data, FX/Payment Solutions, Blockchain Solutions, Cybersecurity and Trading Systems.   Other winning teams included Apoidea, AQUMON, Wizpresso, CoverGo, PortfoPlus, Wesurance, iXFintech, Millennials Mind, Velotrade, Midpoint, TranSwap, gini, Regtics, SIMNECTZ, Standard Kepler, Earth Channel, NFC Touch and Polydigi.  They all gathered to receive the accolades and celebrated the big moments at the award ceremony this January.

In addition to winning the top honour, Quantifeed was named “Outstanding B2B Robo-advice Platform” under the Wealth Investment and Management category. Quantifeed’s platform provides scalable and highly customisable digital wealth and robo-advisory solutions to banks, brokers, insurers, and wealth planners across Asia. Additionally, the company’s services cater to retail customers, offering them transparent, affordable, and accessible wealth management and investment solutions and tools.

Celebrating the results with the companies at the awards ceremony, Cyberport CEO Peter Yan said, “We are all energised that our FinTech start-ups have won plaudits from the industry for their great achievements.  They are a nod to the value and quality of Hong Kong’s FinTech innovations.  Cyberport will continue to enrich and enhance the FinTech ecosystem to enable more talent and companies to thrive, facilitate more traditional financial institutions to adopt innovative solutions, and champion further financial inclusion through FinTech.”
