HK2gether joins hands with community to drive donations of anti-epidemic supplies for the needy
Even though social distancing has kept people physically apart, numerous Hongkongers have joined hands out of kindness to help the vulnerable pull through together.  Cyberport Startup Alumni Association (CSAA) has stepped up to promote the good deeds by supporting the HK2gether campaign by Me2You, a Cyberport community company, to crowdsource supplies for the homeless, elderly living alone, and low-income chronically ill patients who require regular follow-up consultations. GOGOVAN, who is a member of CSAA, also pools in resources by providing logistic support.

Me2You, a social enterprise and gifting platform that allows people to donate idle items to the less privileged, launched phase 1 of the campaign in February and successfully collected and distributed over 9,000 face masks, 2,000 hand sanitisers, and 100 packs of disinfection wet wipes to socially vulnerable groups via NGOs.

Between 25 April and 17 May, the start-up is doubling down on its efforts with phase 2 of the campaign and is calling on people and companies with excess surgical masks, hand sanitisers, and disinfection wet wipes in any quantity to make donations for people in need.

Me2You has partnered with 10 organisations to set up over 50 collection points across the city, including three at Cyberport. CSAA and its volunteers will conduct basic quality checks, quantity recording and packing in May (click here if you would like to help) while GOGOVAN will help transport the donations to a central collection point for redistribution.
“This is a beautiful example where members of the Cyberport community are able to band together to create something where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. We hope to truly ease the burden of those in need,” said Raymond Young, Vice President of CSAA.
